Saman Hosseinpuor was born in Kurdistan, Iran, in 1993. He is a Kurdish Iranian writer and director with more than ten short films to his name. His work has been recognized and awarded at over a hundred film festivals, including the Telluride Film Festival, Zlín International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, Beijing Student Film Festival, and Red Sea International Film Festival. He is an alumnus of the Asian Film Academy and Berlinale Talents. Hosseinpuor holds both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in cinema and is an alumnus of the Busan Asian Film School (AFiS program). His films primarily focus on Kurdish culture, particularly the experiences of Kurdish people in Iran. Additionally, Saman Hosseinpuor is an official member of the Iranian Short Film Association and an alumnus of the Naff Fantastic Film School Bifan 2024. Moreover, he is a Cinema instructor of Iranian Youth Cinema Society in Sanandaj, Iran.
